Meera - A Thief. Noooooooooooooo!!!

How can that be possible. I am a huge fan of Meera Jee - that is how she refers to herself. For the uninitiated, Desis from the subcontinent add "jee" to a name as a sign of respect. Apparently Meera Jee thinks she is worthy of that respect to use the term for herself :)

Coming back to the story, an arrest warrant has been issued for Meera Jee who has been accused of theft and intimidation as reported by the police officials in the city of Lahore, Pakistan.

The charges were made by a businessman who claims to be her husband. As per this gentleman, Mr. Atiqur Rahman, he married Meera Jee in 2007, a claim vigorously denied by Meera Jee, wholeheartedly supported by the Lahore police who say they have evidence!!

Mr Rahman alleges that Meera Jee has stolen some of his belongings from their home.He says that when he returned from a recent business trip he found that a number of valuable items in his house had been taken.Police say the house Meera lives in is in her name, although it could have originally been bought by Mr Rahman.

"The matter led to an altercation during which she threatened that she could get me killed," he told media.

Meera Jee has not yet made any public comment about the warrant. Her mother has already filed a complaint with the police accusing Mr Rahman of sending hooligans to ransack the house.

Meera's views on "Talent of Exchange"

"Doctors nay newspaper parhnay say munna kiya hai"
I am sure they are graduates from "Meera Jee Medical College" and equally adept at medicine as she is in English language.

And who can beat "talent of exchange honna chahiay. Oh, ho ghalut ho gya, dobara kar lein?" Nobody edited the piece out. Priceless.

What is going on??? Meera married and a thief? Or a victim?

A judge on Saturday granted pre-arrest bail until September 11 to Meera Jee in a theft and criminal intimidation charges case. The case was registered with the Defence-A police station against Meera, her parents, her uncle, brother and brother-in-law under theft and criminal intimidation charges on the complaint of Meera’s husband, Attique-ur-Rehman of Faisalabad.

He stated in his application that he married Meera on September 2, 2007. He said most of the time he was abroad. On August 28, he returned to his house in Defence-A and found her wife Meera, her mother Shafqat Begum, her father Sarwar, her brother Ahsan, her brother-in-law Raheel and her uncle Abbas stealing household items, including furniture and an electric generator.

The complainant stated that as he tried to stop the accused, they threatened him and made off with the household goods.

On the other hand, Meera and her mother, while talking to reporters, denied the actress had married Attique.

Meera said she only had a business relation with him and now he was trying to blackmail her.

She said Attique attacked her house and she might have been killed if she was present there. She demanded of the government to provide her security as she was afraid of Attique.

On another front:

Meera Jee claims that Indian filmmaker Faisal Saif is trying to ruin her reputation.
She even claims that the director has paid Attiqur Rehman to pretend to be her husband.
Her statements came after she had lodged a complaint with Punjab Chief Minister’s complaint cell against Rehman, and requested for security claiming that her life was in danger.
Rehman, however, rejected her claim by saying that he did not know any Indian director named Faisal Saif, reports the Daily Times.
He said that Meera was "constructing stories" to hide her marriage to him.
